The company has offices throughout the Southwest.

Sam Nicholson


Nicholson is the president/founder of Grand Canyon Development Partners. With more than 35 years of civil and building construction experience ranging from manufacturing ready-mix concrete and asphalt paving, to the construction of water and amusement parks, hotel casinos, sports facilities, sports arenas, retail and entertainment venues. Some of the notable projects he and his team have been associated with include the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Grand Bazaar Shops of Las Vegas, Paris Hotel & Casino, Luxor Hotel, Caesars Coliseum, Trump International Hotel, Green Valley Ranch, Marriott Renaissance, Hyatt Regency, Phoenix Coyotes Hockey Arena, Arizona Diamondbacks Baseball Stadium, and the Phoenix Suns Basketball Arena. Grand Canyon has performed pro-bono work for St. Jude’s Ranch for Children, Southern Nevada Children First, Noah’s Animal House, and many other organizations in Nevada, assisting in the development and construction of new projects, or the repair and remodel of current facilities.

Vincent Tatum

Exec Vice President

Tatum is an experienced professional in the development industry with more than 13 years of successful management in commercial construction, project management, construction sourcing and procurement, capital investment management, financial cost and controls, risk management, and logistics. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies with a minor in Japanese at Old Dominion University, and is also a veteran of the U.S. Army. His past positions include director, design and construction strategic sourcing for Caesars Entertainment Corporation, senior project manager of The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, and project manager of Gemstone Development.

Tim Lockett

Vice President of Construction

Tim began his career in 1991 at the Nevada Test Site working for Reynolds Electrical & Engineering Company (REECo). After several years working for REECo, the contract for the works at the Nevada Test Site was awarded to Bechtel Nevada. While at Bechtel Nevada, Tim was promoted to Engineering Supervisor. In 1998, Tim joined the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) as project manager. During his tenure at UNLV, Tim worked his way through the ranks to Director of Construction. Tim oversaw the delivery of 27 new facilities on the campus as well as hundreds of major renovations and remodels over his 20-year career at UNLV.

Karim Jabal

Director of Technology

Karim Jabal is an industry leader with over two decades of progressive experience spanning various areas of technology, engineering, and construction. Prior to joining Grand Canyon Development Partners, Mr. Jabal held a series of Executive level positions as the Director of Technology Consulting, Executive Director of Technology, and VP of Project Development. In these positions, Mr. Jabal developed a wide bandwidth of notable skillsets in areas such as Mission Critical Facilities, Converged Network Design, and Technology Master Planning. Mr. Jabal’s strong technical skills in Audiovisual, Information Technology, and Security Surveillance Systems lend to his ability to evolve alongside this ever-changing industry. His extensive expertise in Energy and Sustainability and Smart Building Technologies enable him to strategically develop and execute the most complex projects of any volume.

Doug Scott

Project Executive

Doug Scott brings over 35 years of exceptional experience as a Project Manager and Superintendent. Mr. Scott is equipped with an extensive background in Commercial, Industrial, Healthcare, Military, and Multi-Family Contracting. His strategic skillset contributes to improvement, innovation, and mitigation of the challenges that present themselves during the life of a project. Mr. Scott’s ability to accommodate and execute the desires of his clients has made him a highly sought-after member of the construction management community. Throughout his most notable projects, he was responsible for directing the general project operation along with the management of the project superintendents and project management staff. Mr. Scott effectively establishes seamless working relations with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and staff. He brings tremendous value to the team and projects of any scale.

Steve Robbins

Project Manager

Steve Robbins brings over 35 years of exceptional experience as a nationally renowned Project Manager and Director. As a well-known leader in the industry, Mr. Robbins is equipped with an extensive background in Commercial, Industrial, Higher Education, Retail, Office and Public Works. His strategic skillset contributes to improvement, innovation, and mitigation of the challenges that present themselves during the life of a project. Mr. Robbin’s long-standing passion for development and construction management allows him to approach matters with a unique insight and understanding of this industry.

Seyanni Scott

Marketing Manager

Seyanni Scott is an innovative creator and marketing professional who brings over 10 years of experience spanning various industries including Commercial Real Estate Development, Construction Project Management, Corporate Finance, and Legal Administration. With an innate ability to connect with others, Ms. Scott has an impressive history of surpassing ambitious business goals and positioning organizations for success by creating and implementing effective marketing strategies and demonstrating a profound dedication to company growth and audience engagement. Ms. Scott holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration – Finance, from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She supports the local community by regularly facilitating and engaging in events that benefit various non-profit organizations. Ms. Scott currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Keep it Alive Foundation, and is an active member of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) and the American Marketing Association (AMA).

Kevin Ordinian

Senior Project Manager

Kevin Ordinian brings over 35 years of experience as a Construction Project Manager, Owner’s Representative, and Architectural Designer. Mr. Ordinian has a verifiable track record of successful completion of multi-million dollar projects which he managed while adhering to cost-effective budgets and punctual schedules. He has become adept in streamlining demanding schedules by implementing new technologies and innovative techniques to keep his projects in a constant state of advancement. Mr. Ordinian’s aptitude for high-level multitasking, passion for construction, and dedication to his clients enables him to concurrently plan, organize, and manage various civil, commercial, mixed-use, and residential projects.

Melissa Jamvold

Design Manager

Melissa Jamvold is visionary design manager with over 20 years of professional design and construction experience. The depths of her insight and expertise ensure the visons of our clients are thoroughly explored and executed. Mrs. Jamvold’s past positions include Senior Design Director, Project Design Manager, and Senior Interior Designer. Mrs. Jamvold completed her undergraduate studies at Colorado State University – Fort Collins, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design, ultimately moving on to obtain her Master’s degree in Interior Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Mrs. Jamvold’s passion for all facets of design and construction enable her to approach each project with meticulous attention to detail and flawless execution.
